Panagos Katz Situational Investing was established in partnership with Kohlberg Capital Corporation to invest in the debt and equity of distressed companies. PKSI participates in the markets for distressed assets with a reasonable, long-term approach and a multi-deal perspective. We aim to work constructively with the issuer, advisors and other creditor constituencies to protect and build value across asset classes in each distressed situation in which we invest.

Approach

PKSI employs two strategies:

First, we invest with a 12 - 36 month horizon in the secondary markets for debt and equity issued by companies that are entering into or in the process of restructuring due to financial or operational distress.

Second, we selectively originate new credit facilities to borrowers that are otherwise unable to access the traditional markets.

Deal Size

PKSI aims to invest $15mm - $20mm of its own capital per name. On the origination side of the business, we will structure and syndicate new facilities of up to $150mm, and we will consider participating in club deals structured by other arranging entities.
